OUR MISSION:

“Mental positivity has such an impact on cancer warriors; we help to provide hair loss therapy to cancer patients currently undergoing treatment that might otherwise not have the means to afford it.”

— ONE NINE BESTRONG

Chemotherapy causes many cancer warriors to loose their hair…but there is hope.

Chemotherapy-induced hair loss can be one of the most traumatic side effects associated with cancer treatment. This can make many individuals self conscious, at an already challenging and emotional time.

Fortunately, there is hope; with scalp cooling technology, aka a “cold-cap,” which helps prevent hair loss.

What is Scalp Cooling?

What does a cold cap do? "It reduces the damage that chemotherapy causes to hair follicles. It does this by lowering the temperature of the scalp immediately before, during, and after chemotherapy. This in turn reduces blood flow to the area around the hair follicles, which may prevent or minimize hair loss." (Paxman USA)

Out of Pocket Expenses

Most insurance companies don’t cover this system and it becomes an additional expense to the already staggering cost of fighting cancer. There are supplemental programs that grant a discount to some patients, but many still cannot afford this option of hope in keeping their hair and staying confident.

ONE NINE BESTRONG wants to help alleviate this expense by 100% providing these caps to patients who otherwise couldn’t afford this option.

Supporting Cancer Warriors

Scalp cooling can help give patients some power over their appearance with a sense of normalcy and control, while so much of this is taken away from them during treatment.

It not only helps preserve a good amount of hair, but also aids in the re-growth and allows new follicles to grow once chemotherapy is complete.
— Katey, MA
I almost chose to forego treatment, until I learned about cold caps and that gave me hope of saving my hair. I am thrilled that I was able to keep most of my hair, while looking and feeling relatively normal throughout chemotherapy.
